So what does this mean for your business?

Podcasts are where it’s at

The podcast boom just keeps booming. Its arrival on Netflix is huge, proving that podcasts are no longer a niche medium, they’re completely mainstream. That's great news for businesses already on board. And if you’re not, there are plenty of benefits of hosting a podcast for your brand, from building a connection with audiences to creating quality social content.

Audio audiences are watching

We know that audiences have been tuning into podcasts for years on YouTube, so there’s clearly an appeal. Having a video version can make the experience feel even more personal, making it feel like the hosts are sitting in your living room with you. Hybrid Solutions’ Raise the Floor podcast is a perfect example of creating resonance with audiences.

So if you’re a business who’s thinking about dipping their toe into the podcast world, perhaps consider a video version for audiences to put a face to the voice.

Is the future indie?

For the moment, some pretty big hitters are joining Netflix’s podcast roster. That said, there’s always an opportunity for Netflix to create space for independent creators in the future.

If a podcast is engaging and has a unique voice, there’s no reason why it wouldn’t be right for Netflix, because there’s certainly an audience for it.
